The Kingma family has a long and fascinating history.

It all starts around 1450 with ancestor Jelle, a farmer on the sate (Frisian for an inhabited tract of land) of Kinghum, situated on a mound near the historic city of Franeker.

The Kingma family foundation has done a tremendous amount of research.
