I Kingma State
Kingma State 3D
Kingma State 3D is a three-dimensional reconstruction of the State and its grounds at Zweins, as accurate as the sources allow, in two years: around 1600 and in 1847. You walk through it yourself, outside across the yard and the fields and inside through the house. The time button takes you between the two years.
What you can do
- Walk around the estate and the village, and go inside the house: doors and shutters open and close.
- Travel between around 1600 and 1847 and see what changed in between.
- Check the map to see where you are, and read the signs marked (i) to learn what you are looking at and what it is based on.
Controls
- Computer: walk with W, A, S and D (Shift to go faster), look around by dragging with the mouse, E to do something, M for the map and Esc for the menu.
- Phone and tablet: walk with the joystick at the bottom left and look around by swiping across the screen.
It runs in an ordinary browser, with nothing to install. It works best on a recent phone, tablet or computer; the first load takes a moment.
How reliable is it?
It is a reasoned reconstruction, not a photograph. It is based on old maps, descriptions, images and comparable buildings in the region; where the sources are silent, we made choices. The sources are in the app itself, on the signs and in the menu.
